About Us

Doreen R. Patrick MVA, ACS, CIVA, Owner and Founder of Virtual Business Partners launched the first virtual assistant financial services training in early 2007 after seeing a demand for services.

Doreen quickly discovered that if financial services professionals had a virtual assistant with industry and product knowledge, the financial services professionals would become more efficient and productive, resulting in increased productivity and the ability to do what they do best, service their clients and reaching new ones. An industry survey conducted by Doreen indicates that financial services professionals realize the need for specialized assistance, but they are not aware of resources available to assist them or how to utilize a virtual assistant.  Doreen researched financial services training and selected LOMA as the education provider for the financial services certifications.  LOMA is a recognized as a leader in financial services training, click the LOMA link to learn more!

 

Bernadette M. Wong, CIVA has over 20 years experience as an administrative assistant within the insurance and financial services industry. As an administrative assistant professional, Bernadette has been involved with various levels of senior management. Her last four years as a call center representative for producers across Canada has given her experience which allows her to provide professional and knowledgeable assistance in many areas of insurance. Bernadette is currently starting her third year as a Virtual Assistant.

 

As Owner of K&M Secretarial Services ~ the virtual way, Bernadette was presented with an opportunity from Doreen Patrick, Founder of the Certified Insurance Virtual Assistant (CIVA), to establish the CIVA Designation Program in Canada for Canadian Virtual Assistants providing them with the same opportunity to further their career in the Insurance/Financial Services Industry. Bernadette, with her previous administrative experience within the insurance/financial services industry was keen on this program because of the affiliation with LOMA.
